Catfish Web-to-print Platform
Page Technology Group, in partnership with software developer ISL, unveiled the Catfish Web-to-print platform at PODi’s AppForum, featuring an intuitive design and simple user interface. The Catfish platform boasts full mobile optimization, adjusting automatically to the screen size of the computer, tablet or mobile device used to view it. No technical knowledge is needed to build document templates using its standard Adobe PDF design tools. A single document template can then be used across both print and digital communications. Catfish also offers full integration with social media channels. —www.pagetechnology.com
Critical Communications Software
At Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne, Switzerland, last month, Ricoh launched its centralized Critical Communications software and services portfolio. The portfolio offers precise tracking capabilities that will allow printers to easily pinpoint errors in jobs; jobs requiring manual intervention; or documents that need to be reprinted due to downstream finishing issues. The first module is Track and Trace, a feature of DocEnhancer, which provides printers with a way to barcode and scan every printed piece, and create a report showing that every piece was produced correctly, while also allowing printers to control every other part of the production print process.—www.ricoh.com

Both models have a maximum paper capacity of 2,270 sheets and can handle up to 12x18˝ paper. Single Engine Duplex Inkjet
Last month at Hunkeler Innovationdays, Xerox introduced the CiPress 500 and 325 Single Engine Duplex (SED) production inkjet systems. The CiPress SED’s compact configuration—suitable for operations with limited floor space—prints duplex jobs, one-up on a narrow 9.5” web at 500 or 325 feet per minute. Using Xerox’s waterless inks, the CiPress SED produces vibrant, full-color images and graphics on low-cost, plain papers. An ink optimization mode reduces the amount of ink coverage on pages that have more text and fewer graphics. Ink monitoring reports let in-plants know the exact amount of ink used for precise job costing. — www.xerox.com/printing
