New Sales-per-Employee List Ranks Smaller In-plants Ahead of Large Shops

When we posted our ranking of in-plants according to sales per employee earlier in the year, we only used data on the largest in-plants. But after soliciting sales and employee data from small and mid-size in-plants, we have now updated that ranking.

The new list puts smaller in-plants like Rochester City School District and Kohler Co. at the top, ahead of giants like the State of California (and even the U.S. Government Publishing Office), showing that the largest in-plants aren’t always the leaders in revenue per employee.
