Nekoosa Hailed as a Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year

Nekoosa Coated Products was one of eight Wisconsin companies awarded a prestigious Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award. This program recognizes manufacturers for their contributions to the state of Wisconsin. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges representing industry, education and the public sector.

Nekoosa Coated Products, a specialty paper manufacturer and converter, has been in business for nearly 50 years. In addition to manufacturing carbonless papers, Nekoosa recently diversified into specialty substrates like synthetic papers, pressure-sensitive films, magnetic paper and coated papers. The company has added 12 new specialty products in the past five years.

Nekoosa focuses on employee safety, wellness, recognition and development in order to create a positive working environment. Employee programs focus on each of those areas, and the company has met many goals, such as working 968 days (and rising) without an OSHA recordable or lost time incident, improved wellness scores by over 10 percent in the last three years with 90 percent voluntary participation, and just under 3 percent turnover in the last five years. Thanks to an innovative incentive program, Nekoosa has averaged over 45 percent perfect attendance.
