Mohawk Now an FSC Chamber Member
Mohawk Fine Papers is now a member of the Economic Chamber North in FSC International.
By becoming a member, Mohawk is demonstrating its commitment to promote responsible management of the world’s forests as well as its commitment to FSC and its principles.
The FSC organization consists of three international chambers: Economic, Social and Environmental. Members participate in the General Assembly, the highest decision-making component of the FSC, where they take part in the process of standard setting, election of the board of directors, and voting on motions to determine the direction of FSC activities in the coming years.
“Mohawk now officially joins a group of leaders in environmental and social businesses who jointly, with social and environmental organizations, actively shape the future of the FSC,” said Liza Murphy, managing director FSC Global Development.
FSC International currently has members in 45 countries from Canada, Germany, Brazil and Japan to Kenya, Madagascar and Australia. Mohawk joins the U.S. Chamber with other members such as Home Depot, Greenpeace USA and the Institute for Sustainable Forestry.
