Graph Expo attendees will get to see a live JDF demonstration showing how industry standards can work together in a design-to-finishing automated workflow.
Vendors like Adobe, FOLDRite, Avanti, Kodak and Duplo have coordinated with CIP4, the JDF standards organization, to demonstrate an entire workflow on the show floor. For the first time, visitors will be able to see an A-to-Z demonstration of this process and how industry standards can work together across different systems—creating a more realistic view of the average print shop’s varied equipment offerings.
Show attendees who visit Booth 3646 will be stepped through the production process, from file creation to finishing, while learning about each step of the process along the way. Descriptive placards will label and describe in detail each step in the workflow to explain the connectivity and the benefits of a PDF workflow with JDF.
The demonstration will begin at the design desktop, with the creation of a brochure that was designed using a FOLDRite folding template in Adobe InDesign CS3. The PDF and JDF data will move to the Avanti Print MIS, through the Kodak Prinergy digital workflow, on to the Kodak M700 digital press, and the printed sheets will go through Duplo’s DC-645 cutter, slitter, creaser. Duplo will also demonstrate JDF-enabled automated folding of the finished product at the Duplo booth.
