Konica Minolta Highlights New Product Branding
At a press conference during Graph Expo this week, Konica Minolta touted its new Accurio product line and a ramped-up partnership with MGI. Kevin Kern, senior VP for business intelligence services and product planning, announced that the Accurio branding will apply to all of Konica Minolta’s industrial equipment going forward.
One of the most anticipated product releases from Konica Minolta is the AccurioJet KM-1, an inkjet press featuring a 23×29.5˝ sheet size that can process up to 3,000 sph. Though the KM-1 was not physically at the company's booth, visitors were able to get a virtual reality view of it by donning special goggles at the booth.
Kern also gave a nod to the AccurioPRESS C2070 color production printer, being shown as a technology demo at the Konica Minolta booth. It will replace the bizhub PRESS C1070 when it debuts next year, he said.
Kern discussed Konica Minolta’s growing partnership with MGI, as Konica Minolta has increased its ownership stake in MGI to 41%. Gavin Jordan-Smith, VP, solutions and production planning at Konica Minolta, also discussed the company’s software solutions, including the AccurioPro Conductor and AccurioPro Flux. AccurioPro Conductor allows users to manage multiple Konica Minolta presses and AccurioPro Flux improves makeready, preflight, submission and job status on Konica Minolta devices and many from other suppliers.
