In-plant Open House in Pittsburgh
Konica Minolta Business Solutions recently held an in-plant open house at its facility in Pittsburgh, Pa. In-plants from around the region attended the event, which featured seminars and demos of equipment from Konica Minolta and its partners.
IPG Editor Bob Neubauer gave a presentation at the event in which he encouraged in-plants to add new services to enhance their value to the organization. He offered examples of in-plants that have expanded their service offerings and increased business.
In-plants from a number of organizations attended the event: Allegheny College, Geneva College, Duquesne University, Oncology Nursing Society, American Auto Matrix, the Community College of Allegheny County, California University of Pennsylvania and others.
“Our purpose was to bring some educational value to the local in-plant/CRD departments,” explains event organizer Tom Rutzky, senior production print specialist at Konica Minolta Business Solutions. “By discussing and sharing trends and best practices that are applicable to their world, we can increase the value they bring to their university or company, which in turn will help justify and strengthen their existence.”

Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 180 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.
