Europe’s Unified Patent Court ordered Kodak to stop selling its Sonora XTRA-3 process-free printing plates in Germany, following a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Fujifilm, according to an article in Printweek.
The ruling, which Kodak is appealing, applies only to Germany and covers sales dating back to July 17, 2019. While the court dismissed Fujifilm’s demands for €10 million (approximately $10.8 million) in interim damages and €200,000 (around $217,000) for moral prejudice, it did require Kodak to pay €300,000 (about $325,000) for legal and related expenses. Additionally, Kodak must disclose detailed financial information about its infringing activities, though the court declined to impose a deadline for providing this data.
