“My presentation focused on the impact that high-speed inkjet had on our in-plant’s operation—how the investment and technology transformed our in-plant and helped us embrace a much expanded role in our organization,” he says. “I also took the chance to explain how valuable an in-plant printing operation can be for its parent organization, providing a few examples when our operation saved the day using our HP inkjet press by producing quality printing work at an incredibly fast turnaround time.”
Overall, Vainstein was impressed with the Jetcomm event and the many conversations he had with fellow inkjet users.
“There was a very unique atmosphere of collaboration in the air, as industry peers were not shy to share their experiences,” he reports. “In a way, I believe people felt how important the event was and the milestone that it signified for the industry. A common theme was the understanding of how far the industry as a whole has come in regards to digital printing and its role in the future of our industry.”
Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 180 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.
