Its Conference Cancelled, ACUP to Meet Online

The cancellation of the Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) conference due to institutional travel bans saddened many higher-ed in-plant managers. But now, thanks to a special ACUP webinar, in-plants around the globe can still experience some of the educational sessions that had been planned for the conference.

Through a partnership with In-Plant Graphics, some of the very speakers scheduled to speak at ACUP will be participating in the ACUP webinar just 12 days from today. Co-hosted by ACUP President Richard Griffin and In-Plant Graphics Editor Bob Neubauer, the 90-minute webinar will include presentations by three university in-plant managers, plus a lively roundtable discussion by three past ACUP hosts.

All college and university in-plants (and anyone else interested) are welcome to sign up for the free webinar, which will take place on what would have been the last day of ACUP, Wednesday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT. The first-of-its-kind event will be sponsored by Ricoh, Presstek, HP, Océ, Avanti and Technifold. Topics will include:

• Instilling Drive, Spirit and Enthusiasm in your Employees, by Dwayne Magee, director of the Messiah College Press.

• The Secret of Good Customer Service, by Richard Griffin, director of printing at Central Piedmont Community College.

• Rethinking Your In–plant’s Role in the University, by Lisa Hoover, Director of Administrative Services at Bucknell University.

• Past Presidents Roundtable, featuring Rick Wise (University of Missouri), Tom Tozier (University of Colorado) and Jennifer Bowers (Florida State University).
