The world’s largest meeting of in-plant managers is here. From June 14-18, more than 100 managers will head to Orlando, FL, for the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association’s “Splash of Color” conference.
As in past years, numerous educational sessions, roundtables and keynote presentations will ensure attendees come away with new ideas to help transform their in-plants. A two-day vendor fair will feature dozens of equipment and software providers, who will show off products tailored for in-plants. And endless peer networking will let managers share ideas that are working in their in-plants.
One big change this year will be the timing of the awards banquet, which will take place on the first full day of the event. The winners of the In-Print awards will be honored, and the Best of Show winners will be revealed. New this year, attendees will get the chance to vote for an “attendees’ choice” award.
To help inspire more shops to enter the contest next year, a panel of past In-Print winners will offer their tips on the types of work most likely to win, what to avoid when selecting entries and how to increase your chances.
Among the topics to be covered in the conference’s many educational sessions:
- Adding new services.
- An introduction to wide-format printing.
- 3D printing in the in-plant.
- Mail piece design for automation.
- Direct mail solutions.
- Utilizing outsourcing to increase strategic relevance.
- Marketing your in-plant’s services.
- Making your in-plant appealing to millennials.
- Intelligent packing systems.
There will also be breakout sessions for government, education and corporate in-plants. Keynote speaker Howie Fenton of InfoTrends will offer his thoughts on “What Makes a World Class In-plant and How to Become One.” And to keep IPMA members updated, the IPMA board will report on the state of the association, recent successes and future plans during a town hall meeting.
