IPG to Tour Heidelberg Next Week
On Monday, IPG Editor Bob Neubauer will begin a three-day tour of Heidelberg's facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, along with a handful of U.S. and European journalists. The tour will include a meeting with new Heidelberg CEO Gerold Linzbach.
At a series of meetings, Heidelberg representatives will discuss the company's overall product strategy and offer updates on Prinect, Heidelberg's digital printing activities (including Linoprint), postpress integration, future print applications and more. The group will also visit Heidelberg's Print Media Center, its largest demonstration center, where almost the entire portfolio of Heidelberg products and solutions is on display.
On Tuesday, the group will tour Heidelberg's Wiesloch-Walldorf manufacturing site. With 4,700 staff, 36 production halls and 460,000 square meters of office buildings occupying some 860,000 square meters of land, the site is the world's largest printing press factory. A new cogeneration plant will enable Heidelberg to reduce total energy costs at the site by around 10 percent.
Watch for a recap of this visit to Heidelberg in the January issue of IPG.
