IPG Major In-plant Survey

In-Plant Graphics is in the midst of conducting a major survey of the in-plant industry. Here are some preliminary results:
• 72% have added new equipment in the past 3 years.
• 20% operate only digital printers/copiers, no offset presses, while 7% run only offset presses/duplicators, no digital printers.
• 54% insource printing.
• The top new service that in-plants have added in the past three years is online ordering (36%). (Some other new services submitted as write-ins: photo IDs, envelope manufacturing, perforating, comb/spiral binding, Web-based procurement for outsourced print, name tag engraving, e-marketing and e-merchandising, Braille embossing, AV and photo library, and wide-format engineering copies)
