Vertical Market: Food and Beverage
Business Application: Digital Packaging and Labels
Business Objectives
Interbeverage manufactures hot-fill beverages at a plant in Miami. One of their products is a line of all natural fruit juices and teas sold under the Bonfrüt name. The fruit juices and teas are primarily sold in the southeast United States and Interbeverage needed a labeling solution that would allow them to:
- Cost effectively order smaller quantities of beverage labels
- Sell their beverages as a private label product
- Project an appealing and quality brand image
Results
Topp Digital Label Solutions in Doral, FL, developed a solution for Interbeverage’s Bonfrüt line that enabled them to:
- Effectively launch six different juice and tea products
- Positively brand Bonfrüt beverages with consistent vibrant colors designed to attract consumers
- Attract a private-label account which was partly due to their ability to quickly provide a custom beverage label
- Appeal to mothers, who are concerned about the future of the environment for the sake of their children, by providing 100 percent biodegradable labels
Digital Label Solution
Topp Digital Label Solutions produces the Bonfrüt labels on a digital press in average run lengths of 250,000 labels covering six beverage varieties. Short runs of custom labels can also be run.
Target Audience and Creative
The target audiences for Bonfrüt beverages are mothers, children and health-conscious individuals. To appeal to these markets Interbeverage’s labels incorporate bright colors, its “Funky Monkey” mascot, and messages that focus on all-natural ingredients and vitamin content.
Eco-friendly
The labels are printed on EcoPoint paper from NewPage, which has a high wet strength for label durability, making it a good choice for water, juice and other beverage applications. EcoPoint is available with Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody Certification.
The Xeikon press that Topp Digital Label Solutions uses to print the labels is also environmentally friendly. It produces no hazardous emissions of VOCs, and because it does not use any process water, it does not cause water pollution either. The printed matter is also guaranteed to be recyclable as the toner can be easily removed and contains no harmful chemicals.
These paper and toner choices result in an eco-friendly, biodegradable label. This was appealing to Interbeverage because it markets to mothers and health conscious individuals who may be more concerned about how their purchasing choices affect the environment.
Future Opportunities
Future plans for the beverage labels include adding a QR Code that consumers can scan to participate in a loyalty program that rewards them for frequent Bonfrüt purchases.
Reasons for Success
With digitally printed labels Interbeverage is able to cost effectively serve a regional market and grow their business through private label partnerships.
