Integrating MIS with Web2Print
In recent weeks, four vendors have formed two separate partnerships to link MIS systems with Web-to-print products.
A few weeks ago, Avanti announced that it had integrated its Graphic Arts Management System with Pageflex Storefront Web-to-print software. Then this week, Printable Technologies integrated its FusionPro Web product with the Kodak EMS Business Software. By linking their systems, these companies provide a streamlined workflow from online document customization and ordering through print production.
“One of the greatest challenges facing print shops today is eliminating the re-entry of data as a job makes its way through the shop,” says Patrick Bolan, president and CEO of Avanti. “Avanti simplifies the process by giving systems the ability to talk to one another from prepress to production, speeding turnaround time and allowing our customers to automate the unbillable.”
Jobs created in Pageflex are automatically transferred to Avanti, eliminating the possibility of transcription errors and reducing turnaround time. Pageflex Storefront enables customers to define, auto-generate and manage Web-to-print document customization sites for print and cross media campaign ordering and e-commerce.
Meanwhile, Kodak’s EMS software connects easily with Printable’s FusionPro Web, its Web-to-print system, allowing printers the flexibility to manage and deliver a variety of print on demand, collateral management and marketing communications programs.
“Bringing the FusionPro Web and EMS technologies together gives print service providers the power to seamlessly integrate print and business workflows to dramatically increase business efficiency and boost profitability,” says Joe Fedor, product manager for Printable Technologies.
“The integration with FusionPro Web extends the business reach of EMS Software to non-traditional products and services with automation that significantly reduces the cost of online orders,” adds Eliza Leung, product manager for Kodak’s business workflow products.
