After conducting an in-plant audit, Howie Fenton, the associate director of operations consulting at Infotrends, noticed a concerning statistic. In-plants’ waste was amounting to $750,000.
In-plant printers appear to be lagging in waste tracking and production, and according to the 2014 InfoTrends report, Production Print Services in North America: Understanding Industry Transformation, 53 percent of in-plants are unaware of their paper waste, and many generate 20 percent or more waste. What’s more, commercial printers track and reduce waste far better than in-plants, with commercial printers reducing waste by 63 percent versus 47 percent for in-plants.
A new white paper for in-plants, authored by Fenton, details the cost of waste, the typical culprits and how to measure and overcome waste. Click here for a free download of “How Much Time, Money and Opportunities are you Wasting?”
