Dozens of in-plant managers attended a Government Symposium in Harrisburg, Pa., in September. It was the first Road Show event of the season for the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA). The mini-conference focused on government operations — with speakers from state in-plants in Tennessee, Colorado and Pennsylvania. In-plants attended from state and local municipalities in Oregon, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Michigan and Tennessee, as well as from correctional industries and universities.
Sessions and discussions covered the hurdles in-plants face as they expand into new technologies and workflows, as well as efforts to improve team engagement. IPG Editor Bob Neubauer joined Marcie Carr, director of Pennsylvania's Bureau of Publications, to present a session on production inkjet printing. Attendees also toured the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's print and mail operation, which recently installed an inkjet press.
