In-plant Meetings Off to a Good Start

The In-plant Printing and Mailing Association's fall regional meetings got off to a great start a few weeks ago when 14 in-plant managers met in the Baton Rouge offices of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBSLA). The meetings continue today in Mechanicsburg, Pa., where Messiah College is hosting about a dozen managers for a full-day event, sponsored by Konica Minolta.

At the Baton Rouge meeting, managers listened to speakers talk about paper sustainability and personal goal setting, before enjoying some great Cajun food and then touring the BCBSLA printing and mailing facility. Meeting sponsor Boise Papers gave away door prizes. Attendees included both IPMA members and non-members.

"Our meeting went very well. We had some really great speakers," remarked host Paul Bethel, manager of Digital Printing Services.

At today's Messiah College meeting, taking place near Harrisburg, Pa., Barbara Stainbrook, Konica Minolta's Senior Vice President of Production Print, is discussing trends and considerations for transforming an in-plant into a provider of new value-added services. After lunch, Teri Kelly from New Leaf Paper will discuss how in-plants can differentiate themselves through high-quality printing and environmental stewardship. The meeting will culminate with a tour of the Messiah College Graphics Production Center.

Around the country, IPMA is holding half-day educational meetings this month and next to let in-plant managers meet others in their regions and network. Sponsored by Xerox, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Boise and RSA, the meetings will continue in the following cities:
