Showcasing Creative Digital Printing
“EXPLORE” is Neenah Paper’s first in a series of promotions designed to show how paper colors and textures can be used creatively for frequently specified short-run digital applications. The collection of samples features a folder, hang tag, coaster, box, table tent and brochure on 14 different papers, using a range of production techniques, such as laminating, raised print and die-cuts. Each sample was produced on an HP Indigo 7000 using universally sized digital press sheets, such as 18x12˝ and 19x13˝. The portfolio was inspired by the fast-growing travel trend of “glamping” (glamour + camping). —www.neenahpaper.com
Opaque White Swatchbook
As part of its latest Accent Opaque Warm White promotion, International Paper has launched a swatchbook, “Accent Opaque.” Inspired by fashion imagery, Accent Opaque provides a selection of rich, full-coverage imagery and open, warm white spaces. A sample of every sheet within the portfolio—from virgin to recycled, standard to digital, vellum to smooth and more—has been included. Not only do the swatches feature a blank side that shows the paper in its natural opaque state, they also display the print quality with a printed sample. The 81⁄4x23⁄4˝ layout provides a manageable size for each item, and the corner grommet binding allows viewers to fan through the pages with ease. —www.internationalpaper.com
Continuous-Feed Inkjet Substrate Guide
“What Works Where” is a comprehensive guide to inkjet web presses and the Appleton Coated substrates that perform on them. The guide helps users discover which papers work best on their presses. Press technology, ink type (pigment or dye) and whether the application calls for coated or uncoated paper are all important factors to consider when choosing substrates. —www.appletoncoated.com
