Though OSHA doesn’t have a specific regulation directly addressing pandemics, its General Duty Clause requires employers to provide a safe, healthy workplace.
In this new video, SGIA Director of Environmental, Health and Safety Affairs Gary Jones discusses proper sanitation practices, newly approved disinfectants, the importance of maintaining records, and procedures to take should an employee test positive for COVID-19.
“If your facility is open and you have workers coming in, you need to institute a series of sanitation practices,” he says, noting that SGIA has made a sanitation guide available. Watch the full video here.
