Xerox Debuts Inkjet System
Xerox unveiled its Production Inkjet System last month. Using proprietary solid ink technology, the new waterless inkjet system reportedly enables vivid image quality on low-cost paper for high-volume jobs. It is available in single- and twin-engine (duplex) configurations. Driving the device are 56 durable piezo-electric, drop-on-demand print heads with more than 49,000 nozzles jetting nearly two billion ink drops per second. Each drop hits the paper with precise pixel placement as the printer produces more than 2,000 color images per minute. The granulated, resin-based ink formulation melts onto the paper and solidifies instantly. The Production Inkjet System can produce nearly 2,200 pages or 500 feet per minute. It continuously monitors every page it produces and self-adjusts if an ink nozzle isn't firing properly.—www.xerox.com/printing

Control Glue Application
The WST GC1-1, from Print Finishing Partners, is designed to ensure and control the high quality of glue application on products. Its thermo camera can be used on adhesives like PUR and Hotmelt applied by either an extrusion system or glue roller technology. To protect the user from clogged filters, nozzles or blocked doctor blades, the GC1-1 will inspect each product and warn the operator before pages fall apart. The touch screen controlled camera system shows the operator every fault detected, which can be viewed on a 19˝ touch screen monitor. —www.printfp.com
Pressure Seal Machines
MBM has partnered with Paitec USA and added Paitec's ES Series of pressure seal machines to its product lineup. The ES Series helps in-plants go green by using pressure seal technology for mail, eliminating the use of envelopes. The ES2000 desktop machine can process up to 20,000 forms per month at speeds of up to 2,200 pieces per hour; the table–top ES5000 has a monthly duty cycle of 50,000 forms and a speed of up to 4,250 pieces per hour; and the ES7000 has a feed table that can hold up to 1,400 forms while it processes them at speeds of up to 7,000 pieces per hour. Pressure seal equipment folds and seals specially manufactured forms that have dry cohesive glue around the edges, which seal tight under the pressure of the rollers.—www.mbmcorp.com
New Three-knife Trimmer
