Canon U.S.A. launched the ScanFront 300e and ScanFront 300eP networked document scanners featuring Nuance eCopy ShareScan, a paper-to-digital scanning and workflow software. They can be used as dedicated document scanners or as complements to Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices. The color touch-screen lets users select scanning functions and preview digitized documents. Expanded Solvent Printer Line

The printers incorporate Epson’s dual array Epson MicroPiezo TFP print heads to deliver small droplet sizes and boast four times the nozzles of Epson’s previous solvent printer. Larger Sheet Sizes for Digital Presses
In response to extended-size digital press platforms for the Xerox iGen4, Kodak NexPress and others, Finch Paper has added two extended sheet sizes to its Finch Fine Color Copy digital line of papers. Now available in 14x20˝ and 14x26˝ sizes, the papers are optimized for dry-toner digital print production. Their surface maximizes toner adhesion and offers easy, jam-free runnability. The line is suited for four-color printing and copying, marketing brochures and booklets, newsletters, posters, flyers, kit inserts, reports, and proposals. Heavier Stock, Larger Sheet Size
The Productolith Pts. digital paper offering from NewPage now includes 14-pt. semi-gloss coated two sides (C2S), which offers digital print providers a heavyweight solution for a variety of applications, including packaging, direct mail, book covers and business cards. NewPage has also added a 26x14˝ size to its Futura gloss text and cover standard sheet offering to meet the demand of next generation Xerox iGen and Kodak NexPress digital equipment users. Solid Bleached Sulphate Board
Lamitech, a paperboard manufacturing company, is offering thick Solid Bleached Sulphate board (30-48 points) for printing, obviating the need to print on thinner materials and mount. Printing directly onto thicker SBS board using an offset press, screen press or flatbed digital printer reportedly saves about $0.25 cents per sheet while reducing turnaround time. Lamitech can ship stock orders of this “ready to print” heavyweight SBS from 200 to 200,000 sheets the same day.
