IPG Prepress Guide: Color Management
Agfa
ColorTune X color management software solutions work in combination with measuring devices to generate accurate, ICC-compatible color profiles.
QMS X (Quality Management System) checks the calibration and engine performance of Sherpa proofers in contract proofing applications. Every proofer in the workflow can be calibrated to achieve the same tonal response within predefined tolerances.
Alterno color conversion tool broadens the CMYK color spectrum. It enables printers to standardize their presses on a self-defined ink set that extends the color gamut.
EFI
ColorWise in-RIP color management system provides a range of simple and expert-level tools. A standard component of Fiery color print servers, it includes post-RIP calibration for increased accuracy and flexibility. Fiery Graphic Arts Package provides an additional suite of tools to achieve consistently accurate color and print quality.
GMG Americas
GMG ColorServer provides automatic color space conversions (CMYK-to-CMYK, RGB-to-CMYK and RGB-to-RGB) scaling, sharpening, separation and optimization of pixel and PDF image data. GMG ColorServer provides unsurpassed quality, a dramatic acceleration and complete automation of work processes by accurate, high-speed color transformations resulting in significant cost savings.
Eastman Kodak Co.
Kodak Profile Wizard color management software maintains optimum color accuracy on any input device, monitor display and output device. Includes ICC profile editing capabilities for color professionals, providing control over gradation, luminance/saturation, gray balance, white point and color correction. Create and control ICC profiles, including device link and “many color” profiles (for six-color devices).
Heidelberg
Prinect Image Control: Redesigned to coincide with the launch of the new press control station. The latest version of the color measuring and control system is equipped with the integrated Prinect Quality Monitor software, which enables easier and faster analysis of print products during the production process. Press operators can now access all key quality parameters, such as dot gain and color deviations, for each measured sheet at the touch of a button, and see at a glance whether the values match in-house quality standards.
New Prinect Axis Control: This new version of Heidelberg’s spectrophotometric color measuring system is integrated into the Prinect Press Center press control station, and can be operated using its touch screen. At 200 millimeters (7.87˝) per second, the new-generation Prinect Axis Control measures at double the speed of its predecessor. The system automatically identifies the type of quality control strip and its position on the print sheet.
Xerox
The automated FreeFlow Print Server for the iGen3 press and new Automated Color Quality suite help streamline the color check and calibration processes. International Color Consortium DeviceLink Profiling is an enhancement to Xerox’s Automated Color Quality tool for iGen3 presses. It builds custom RGB and CMYK color profiles real-time during the initial job setup using an in-line spectrophotometer for faster processing and greater color accuracy.
