Graphics of the Americas to Offer Programs for Creative Professionals
MIAMI BEACH, FL—December 20, 2007— Where can graphics, creative and publishing professionals go to learn about, or polish their skills on, the latest tools of the trade - like Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash?
Unless they live in major metro areas, the level of education available - and the community of users with whom to exchange ideas, tips and tricks - is limited. Access to expert advice, hands-on tutorials, and peers with whom to exchange information, ideas and best practices remains unavailable to most.
Fortunately, this scenario changes with the breadth of educational offerings available at the upcoming Graphics of the Americas 2008 show, Feb. 26 through March 1, 2008, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami Beach, Fla. For the third year, Graphics of the Americas, organized by the Printing Association of Florida (PAF), is including a series of focused educational conferences and tutorials developed specifically for graphic designers and publishing professionals.
Over the course of five days, The InDesign Conference, The Pixel Conference®, The Vector Conference®, and The Conference for Adobe Acrobat at GOA 2008 will feature over 98 sessions, including nine half- and full-day tutorials. Covering essential material such as handling images, streamlining workflow and managing output quality; these conferences, organized by MOGO Media, will be presented by a host of experts from around the world.
“Where else can you find over 30 speakers from around North America and Europe descending on one of the hippest cities to talk and transfer their expertise about InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash?” asks David Blatner, respected author, publishing software expert and program chair of the InDesign and Pixel conferences; and co-chair of the Vector and Adobe Acrobat sessions. “Not since the heyday of Seybold Seminars have graphic design and creative professionals had such a comprehensive, five-day series of presentations, seminars and tutorials available to them - in a single location, and a very attractive one at that!”
“Pair the strength of this program and sessions, delivered by respected experts like Bert Monroy, Sandee Cohen, Colin Smith, Mordy Golding, Claudia McCue, Chris Converse, Katrin Eismann and Anne-Marie Concepción to name a few, with the attractions of the Miami area and the mid-winter timeframe when everyone could use a bit of warmth and sunshine - and you’ve got a must attend event comparable to the level of attraction the original Seybold Seminars, in particular, was known for,” he adds.
Says George Ryan, president and CEO of the Printing Association of Florida (PAF) and event organizer for GOA, “It’s an impressive line-up of InDesign and Adobe Acrobat sessions and experts being brought to you exclusively as part of a co-partnership with GOA. You will not find any other more relevant or unique hands-on content geared to graphic design and creative professionals being presented in 2008.”
The InDesign, Pixel and Vector and Acrobat Conference Content
The InDesign, Pixel, Vector and Acrobat conferences provide six tracks per day of presentations covering workflow, creative and in-depth information about all the hot topics designers and creatives are struggling with today - using Flash, XML, HTML, scripts, color management, type and typography, tables and more. There are also tutorials focused on such topics as “quick start” primers for new users of InDesign, Flash or DreamWeaver; building forms in Acrobat; tips and tricks for using Illustrator; developing cross-media workflows; building interactive PDFs; and more.
