Business-quality Color Production Printer

For in-plants producing transactional color variable-print jobs, Xerox has unveiled the Color 8250 Production Printer, a high-speed cut-sheet system designed to deliver high-volume business-quality color on uncoated paper. Producing 137.5 full process color, letter, 4/0 impressions per minute, the system will deliver variable, vibrant color at 2,400x2,400 dpi. With a Standard paper capacity of 10,000 sheets, it handles a maximum paper weight and size of 130-lb cover and 14.33x22.5˝. Auto Density Control detects streaks in output before they occur and fixes them without operator intervention. Digital Color Labels

The new OKI pro511DW digital web press produces short-run, high-quality, digital color labels. It features custom label management software from Hybrid Software, and Harlequin RIP supplied on a Proactive server. The unit delivers fast, customized, continuous web printing. It offers user-friendly operation in both continuous and cut-sheet modes, with the ability to also produce HD color printing, even on ordinary paper. Five Wide-format Printers

Canon U.S.A. has introduced five imagePROGRAF wide-format printers: the iPF9400 (12-color, 60˝), iPF8400 (12-color, 44˝), iPF6450/6400 (12-color, 24˝) and iPF9400S (eight-color, 60˝). All models utilize Canon’s LUCIA EX pigment ink set. An enhanced multi-sensor improves density accuracy and stability and helps achieve color consistency. The Color Calibration Management Console lets users execute and monitor the calibration status of multiple printers on a network from one PC. Variable Delivery for Small Batches

The VOD (Variable Output Delivery), from Rollem International, is a smart batch-delivery system suited for varying-size runs requiring automated separation of products. The unit visually recognizes and separates orders from within large print runs, and is ideal for production where the overall daily order volume is extremely high, but is made up of hundreds or thousands of small-quantity orders. Rather than manually sort through piles of cut and processed material to break each order into individual orders, the VOD detects the last piece of the previous order and will advance, separating one job from the next and allowing for easy removal in batch required order. —www.rollemusa.com

In-Line UV Coater

The new Ultra 300Ai UV coater, from Duplo USA, can be fully integrated in-line with the HP Indigo 7600 series digital press. The Ultra 300Ai adds richness to its colors and protects them from scratches and scuffs at higher speeds up to 148 fpm. A high-quality gloss or satin finish can be applied to a range of digitally printed applications up to 350 gsm, and paper sizes up to 13x19˝ can be processed in-line with the digital press. Printable Magnets for Digital/Offset

The new DigiMag PLUS 2 from Magnum Magnetics is a printable magnetics technology for HP Indigo and offset presses. It features a waterproof printable surface, with improved UV stability and weatherability performance over BOPP and polypropylene films. The printable surface is bleed-through, scuff-resistant, tree-free, durable and tear-resistant. Available in two versions (for digital and offset printing), DigiMag PLUS 2 is specially designed to cut cleanly using the guillotine and diecutting process, leaving no residue on the cutting blades.
