Government, Higher-ed Printing Forum Next Week
Next Thursday, in-plant managers from government and higher-ed will travel to Washington, D.C., for the eighth annual Digital Printing in Government and Higher Education Forum. The event, free for government and higher-ed professionals, is being organized by Interquest, a market and technology research and consulting firm. Usually held in November, the forum moved to the spring due to the government shutdown last fall. For the second year in the row, the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) will host the event, taking place April 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for government and higher-education users to network and hear about developments and trends with digital printing not only in their sectors, but across the entire spectrum of business, government, and education," remarks Gilles Biscos, president of Interquest. "It's also an added treat to tour the impressive GPO facility."
Among the speakers taking part in the forum will be:
- Narendra Nandoe, Chief, Meetings Support Section, Meetings and Publishing Division, United Nations
- Jimmy Vainstein, Printing Facility Manager, Printing and Multimedia Services, The World Bank
- Matt Landgraf, Lead Program Planner, Programs, Strategy, and Technology, U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO)
- Mike Gatti, Print Services Manager, Fairfax County Government
- Catherine Chambers, Manager of Print Services, Virginia Tech
- Paul Lee, Director, Document Services, Anne Arundel Community College
- Naran Sheladia, Supervisor Print Operations, Navy Federal Credit Union
- Roy Conaway, Manager Printing Services, Norfolk State University
In his session, Biscos will analyze key trends in the publishing, print-on-demand, transactional, graphic arts and in-plant markets. He will explore recent technological and market developments, examine future changes, and discuss the synergy between printed and electronic communication. Toby Cobrin, director of Interquest, will present the key results of recent research analyzing the evolution of digital printing and multi-channel communication in government and higher education.
The forum is designed around recent and ongoing INTERQUEST research in digital printing in governmental and higher education environments. The morning and afternoon sessions will feature presentations, case studies, and end-user panels addressing the needs of both audiences. It will also feature a panel of executives from leading vendors who will present their companies' strategies and solutions for the government and higher education markets.
