From the Publisher Dedication to the Industry
by Gary Rubin, Publisher
Yes, I've taken over this page...well, just for this one issue.
At this year's International Publishing Management Association (IPMA) show in Salt Lake City, IPG Editor Bob Neubauer was presented the 2003 Outstanding Partner Award for his constant efforts to promote IPMA's ideals and for always being available as an IPMA speaker and panel moderator. As IPMA's Chief Operating Officer Carol Kraft stated: "Bob has been a true friend and resource to the IPMA and the industry as a whole."
Well said, Carol.
As many of you have witnessed, Bob and I have a running banter of publicly kidding each other. Don't be fooled. In my 34-year publishing career, I've never worked with anyone better. In his nine years as Editor of IPG, I'm constantly impressed with all the in-plant contacts he's built a close rapport with. He's visited over 80 in-plants, several while on his vacations.
Crazy? No, Bob just loves the people that make up the industry we serve, and it shows in his stories.
Besides traveling all over the U.S. for national and regional in-plant shows, he's gone as far as Australia to be a keynote speaker for the Pacific Print Congress.
Bob has always kept his focus on one thing: How to help our readers survive and expand their facilities. So, as much as it pains me, Mr. Neubauer, let me go public and say "Thank You" for all you do to serve our readers and industry. Also, thank you to the IPMA for recognizing Bob's efforts.
