In-plant Impressions Editor Bob Neubauer has been shooting and producing videos of in-plant events for more than 17 years. They now provide a nostalgic record of in-plant conferences past and a look at managers who have since left the industry – along with younger versions of managers still in the business.
This video of the 2008 National Government Publishing Association conference offers a detailed look at this very well-attended gathering of government in-plants. More than 80 of them met in Bellevue, Washington, for this education-packed event. The video features such luminaries of the past as former California State Printer Jeff Brandt, then Xerox CEO Ursula Burns, Steven Rigby of Washington State University, Richard Beto of UT Austin, and Consultant Wes Friesen.
The video also offers a tour of the Washington State Department of Printing back when it was an offset powerhouse under the leadership of Director Jean-Luc Devis, with web and sheetfed presses. Watch this archival video for a look back in time at the in-plant industry as it was 16 years ago.
