In-plant Impressions Editor Bob Neubauer has been shooting and producing videos of in-plant events for more than 17 years. They now provide a nostalgic record of in-plant conferences past and a look at managers who have since left the industry – along with younger versions of managers still in the business.
This video of the 2008 Association of College and University Printers conference in Clearwater, Florida, captures the enthusiasm of that event, which brought more than 125 managers together, including some from Australia and the U.K. Attendees didn’t know it, but this would be the last ACUP conference in two years, after the recession would force the cancellation of ACUP 2009.
This lively conference, the last for many of ACUP’s “old guard,” featured a boat cruise, a botanical garden visit, and plenty of educational sessions, covering topics like merging print and mail, justifying equipment acquisition, customers service, web submission software, and more.
Watch this archival video for a look back in time at the in-plant industry as it was 16 years ago.
