You can make your in-plant more valuable to your organization — and avoid outsourcing threats — by thinking proactively and doing things in a different way. This was the message in a recent Xerox blog, which suggested in-plant managers ask themselves five key questions, designed to help you make smart changes.
The first: What could your in-plant do if it behaved more like a commercial printer? One idea is to think more in terms of value-based pricing rather than cost-based pricing. Thinking outside the box like this is what distinguishes leading in-plant printers from others, says consultant Howie Fenton.
“As a result, they’re more successful and less threatened by facilities management and outsourcing companies,” he adds.
