From there the job went to a Scitex Dolev 4Press imagesetter, which output loose color film. The designers used this in lieu of a proof to check the dots.
Using a Stoesser plate burner and an Agfa processor, Nick Hornbuckle and Drew Martin imaged the Enco metal plates, which were loaded on the shop's six-color, 20x28˝ Mitsubishi press. Operators Bob Janas and Felice Rotondaro printed 22,000 copies of the book over two shifts, assisted by Art Hyneman and Mike Fulk.
