Fenton Hired by InfoTrends
Just weeks after parting ways with NAPL, his employer for the past 12 years, consultant Howie Fenton has joined InfoTrends as associate director of operations consulting. In this new role, he will work with governments, universities and corporate enterprises to assess and benchmark their customer and graphic communications processes and provide recommendations on staffing, technology and sourcing. He will also work with commercial printers on strategy, workflow optimization, and business development initiatives.
“I’m excited to be working with such highly qualified industry analysts and consultants at InfoTrends,” commented Fenton. “I look forward to applying my knowledge to help clients to improve their operations and build their business.”
Fenton is a familiar name to in-plant managers. His presentations at industry events like IPMA are always popular. At Graph Expo, his talk on benchmarking drew a roomful of in-plant managers to an IPG luncheon. An occasional columnist in IPG, his article on "Web-to-print Leaders and Laggards" appears in the November issue.
At InfoTrends, Fenton will assist clients with in-depth assessments of production print and multi-channel delivery workflow and provide detailed advice on operations strategies, preparing requests for proposal for technology and sourcing options, and supporting implementation efforts. He will also support client business development initiatives including sales training, speaking at customer events, and writing white papers.
In addition to his extensive consulting work, Howie has written five books including three on operational production and two on digital printing. He has managed a quick printing company, the prepress department of a commercial printer, and has taught at the Rochester Institute of Technology School of Printing.
