The PRINTING United Expo — September 10-12 in Las Vegas — is just around the corner, and attendees are eagerly preparing for days filled with learning, networking, and inspiration. We talked with Nikki Hiller, administrator of Printing and Publications & Mail at Omaha Public Schools, to learn about her Expo plans.
What made you want to attend this year's Expo?
This event is informative in so many ways. I will be able to visit with all the major vendors in our industry and view performing machines all in one place.
What ideas did you bring home from the Expo last year that helped your in-plant?
Last year was my first Expo. I came back with many ideas to purchase copiers and finishing equipment and ideas on how to implement them in our in-plant.
What products or services are you most looking forward to seeing this year?
Inkjet and printing on coated stocks. Also wide-format substrates.
Why is attending the Expo better than going to a vendor’s demo center to see equipment?
This gives me the opportunity to be vendor neutral. It is easier to see it all in one location with a short timeframe to focus.
Is networking with industry peers an important reason for attending the Expo? If so, why?
I will be attending the networking events; this allows me to hear the excitement of my peers about what they are looking for and [learn] what is working in their plant.
How do you hope attending will impact your business/career moving forward?
Growing my knowledge in AI, robotics, streamlining processes, and more efficient equipment will assist my in-plant in producing more accurate and diversified products, to give our clients more options to order.
