As part of Columbia University's push for greater sustainability, the New York City university's Print, Copier, Mail & Transportation operation has made some major changes to the fleet used by its mail delivery team as it migrates from fossil fuel to clean energy vehicles.
It recently added a new battery-electric Chevy Bolt and a hybrid electric Subaru Cross Trek to its fleet. The operation also uses a clean diesel van and a Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid.
The Bolt is an all-electric car offering an EPA-estimated 238 miles of range on a single charge. Used by the Columbia Mail team to transport campus mail, the addition of the new vehicles is in line with Columbia's Sustainability Plan and will help the University achieve its GHG emissions reduction goals.
