EFI, a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today announced that it has acquired Lector Computersysteme GmbH, a print management information system (MIS) developer based in Monchengladbach, Germany.
Lector is a leading provider of German-language MIS software, and the acquisition will strengthen EFI's MIS leadership position in Europe.
While financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, it is not expected to be material to EFI's Q4 or full-year 2013 results. Lector's employees have joined EFI and will report to Sean Whelan, director of EMEA-region operations in EFI's Productivity Software business.
"Germany has always been one of the world's largest printing industry markets, so we are pleased to have Lector Computersysteme join EFI," said Marc Olin, EFI's interim CFO and senior vice president and general manager of the company's Productivity Software business.
Frank Mertzbach, founder and former owner of Lector, also commented: "EFI continues to prove it is a world-class provider when it comes to helping printing companies improve their management operations and grow profitably. We are excited to give our customers access to technology from the world's leading developer of print MIS software."
