EFI has announced the commercial availability of new Fiery digital front ends (DFEs) to drive the Ricoh Pro C9100/C9110 production printer series. The top-performing Ricoh high-speed print engine and the new Fiery DFEs, E-43 and E-83, have received Digital Press System Certification from Idealliance, offering users a rigorously tested and verified superior color and image quality, and advanced production capabilities.
"We are excited to bring to our customers the winning combination of our newest digital printers and robust Fiery technology," said John Fulena, vice president, Ricoh Production Print Business Group, Ricoh Americas. "Fiery is the premier DFE platform for commercial digital print, and with Fiery E-43 and E-83 DFEs, we are offering Ricoh Pro C9100 and C9110 owners the expanded functionality and processing power they need, along with the added flexibility to configure and scale digital print workflows based on their specific requirements."
John Henze, vice president of marketing, EFI Fiery, also added, "EFI and Ricoh collaborated in the development of these DFEs to ensure seamless support for the new Ricoh Pro C9100 and C9110. And, on the Fiery E-83 DFE, we have also added the significantly faster processing capabilities of EFI Fiery HyperRIP, one of many capabilities that have continued to define Fiery DFEs as the market leader. We are pleased that Ricoh has chosen to launch these new digital production color systems exclusively with the exceptional speed and performance of Fiery technology."
Industry-leading functionality
More than a DFE, EFI Fiery technology is known for its many industry-leading capabilities, including:
- Consistent job management across all Fiery Driven printing devices using the latest version of EFI Fiery Command WorkStation, the powerful, intuitive job management interface that lets users manage them locally or remotely from a single user interface.
- Best-in-class color and imaging with Fiery Spot-On for spot color emulation, Image Enhance Visual Editor for automated image correction and the powerful prepress software Fiery Graphic Arts Package, Premium Edition, that comes standard with Fiery E-83. The optional Fiery Color Profiler Suite gives users the ability to produce color-critical jobs with confidence and achieve consistent color precision.
- Print job automation tools such as Fiery Hot Folders, Virtual Printers and server presets that come standard with these new servers and increase operational efficiency by automating a variety of processes with custom predefined print settings. Users can build and manage essential application-specific workflows with the free Fiery JobFlow Base or upgrade to Fiery JobFlow to introduce intelligent rules-based job processing with advanced prepress capabilities.
- Integration with EFI MIS and other leading workflow offerings. The Fiery JDF implementation connects EFI MIS solutions and Fiery-enabled solutions to allow job information to move through production systems faster and more efficiently. In addition, the services integrate with workflow solutions such as RICOH TotalFlow and other popular prepress workflows.
