Before investing in the DP-330L, Bertrand Chaffee used other brands of duplicators and even an offset press to print jobs. Misfeeds often slowed down production with the other duplicators, which had trouble feeding different paper stocks and weights. The offset press needed too many chemicals, and setup was time consuming. The department relied heavily on outsourcing, which was not only costly, but also involved a lengthy turnaround time.
