Earvin "Magic" Johnson's memorable, powerful keynote at the Dscoop Edge St. Louis World Expo was about the importance of supporting your teammates, connecting with your community and striving to improve every day.
He was talking to more than 1,100 Dscoopers. He could have been talking about them.
The Heart & Soul of a Genuine Community
Over four days at the America's Center in downtown St. Louis, Dscoop members from more than 40 different countries came together with infectious energy and remarkable idea sharing. The "Gateway to Growth" was fueled by printers and partners eager to learn, connect and advance.
"It doesn't mean anything if there's no heart and soul -- and that's all of you," said Dscoop Executive Director Peter van Teeseling while on stage. "You are all part of a truly amazing global community."
Dscoop is the largest digital print community in the world, with more than 16,000 HP Industrial digital press owners and partners across more than 100 countries. Many of them were literally on stage in St. Louis, sharing powerful stories of collaboration across borders, segments and technologies.
At Edge St. Louis, they helped to lead many of the 60+ education sessions over seven different tracks, along with HP experts and top-level sales and marketing coaches. The event also featured innovative equipment, tools and technology from 73 partners in the Solutions Showcase. Thirteen of those partners brought equipment and ran live applications and demonstrations.
Important Announcements from Dscoop & HP
For the first time in North America, industry pros saw the HP Indigo 200K Digital Press in action, and learned about how the technology is boosting speed and productivity in the packaging market.
“Dscoop is about harnessing the power of community to network, communicate, and innovate,” said Haim Levit, SVP & General Manager, HP Industrial Print. “This event is the opportunity for the entire Dscoop global community to meet HP leadership and engineers, to listen to each other and discuss current and future challenges, and to enable developing a joint roadmap to continued market leadership.”
Dscoop made four announcements during the event:
- The launch of the Dscoop Distributed Print Exchange platform, which will streamline the outsourcing of digital jobs to other trusted members of the Dscoop community
- The growth of the Climate Action Committee, established last year as Dscoop volunteer printers and partners work together to reach the ultimate goal of becoming carbon net zero by 2050
- The development of the Dscoop Ambassador Program with HP, connecting Dscoop members to printers who are new to digital and could bring their hearts and minds into the community
- The upcoming redesign of Dscoop.com, which will enable Dscoopers to interact with content, events and each other in new and improved ways.
"This event is one important part of Dscoop's year-round value," said van Teeseling, "Every time our members get together at local and regional events, share tips and strategies, or dedicate their time to help build our programs and initiatives, I'm humbled by the incredible people in Dscoop. Edge St. Louis is over, but Dscoop's value continues tomorrow and the next day."
