Since Wednesday, hundreds of HP users have been gathered in Phoenix for the DScoop Imagine conference. Among them have been Mike Loyd, IPMA's executive director, and John Sarantakos, director of the University of Oklahoma's in-plant, both of whom report a very busy event full of enthusiastic printers.
The keynote speakers have not disappointed. They have included Billy Beane, executive VP of Baseball Operations for the Oakland A’s (played by Brad Pitt in the movie Moneyball); John Foley (no not that John Foley), a former Blue Angels Solo Pilot, consultant and leadership speaker; Doug Lipp, CEO and president of G. Douglas Lipp & Associates, a consulting firm, and previous head of the Disney University Corporate Headquarters training department; and master mentalist Lior Suchard, showing off his telekinesis skills.
Educational sessions, networking and technology displays have been going on all week. Thursday night, attendees honored the winners of the HP Inkspiration Awards North America. DScoop will culminate tonight with a Dscoop Celebration sponsored by HP.
Founded in 2005, Dscoop is an independent community of HP Graphics Solutions technology owners and technical professionals who use HP Indigo, Scitex, high-end latex and page-wide web press equipment.
