The expression “in our DNA” may have become commonplace in corporate parlance, but specialty ink maker Diversified Nano Solutions Corp. (DNSC) has devised a remarkable new way to apply it – literally – to protect brands, enhance product security, enable accurate tracking, facilitate redemption fulfillment, and implement revolutionary customer loyalty programs. DNSC will present the solution to the graphic communications industry as part of its exhibit at PRINTING United (Dallas, Tex., October 23-25, 2019).
With losses due to counterfeit products costing the global economy $1 trillion annually, the need for comprehensive protection is urgent. According to Bruce Carnes, DNSC’s Business Development Director, smartINK™ with INKcrypt® biomarker technology “is the only 100% secure anti-counterfeit solution with real-time authentication capability using a low -cost detection test that can be used by anyone, anywhere.”
Visitors to booth 12547 at PRINTING United will learn how DNSC uses a DNA derivative substance and a near-instant online digital validation process to make possible what Carnes describes as “the unlimited differentiation of brand owners and item varieties.”
The biomarker technology generates unique DNA sequences that establish proof of identity when applied to products and items. The sequences are copy-proof and compatible with virtually every type of ink and printing process. DNSC provides everything needed to mark, validate, and track items protected and tagged by the solution, which enables users to verify and report product authenticity at any point in the supply chain and at end-user level.
At PRINTING United, DNSC will demonstrate how its broad portfolio of specialty and custom inks, fluids, and biomarkers supports security functions including tag and track, brand protection, supply chain transparency, and customer loyalty. The San Diego, Calif. based company develops and manufactures magnetic inkjet Ink (MICR), UV/IR invisible ink, and other specialty fluids that are formulated to work, as Carnes says, “anywhere you need to add a layer of covert information” to help safeguard brand integrity and enable revolutionary new ways to engage with users.
He adds that DSNC expects its products to attract strong attention at PRINTING United. “We understand that key players in the industry are going to attend and cause major interest from prospects and customers looking for specialty ink, security, brand protection, and loyalty-building solutions,” Carnes says.
The intersection of brands with graphic communications technologies of all kinds will be a continuous theme of PRINTING United, a joint venture of Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and NAPCO Media. With its exhibit space in Dallas’s Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center close to fully booked by more than 600 exhibitors, the event will bring the industry a new perspective on profiting in segments from garment to graphic, packaging to commercial, and industrial to in-plant.
BRAND United, a co-located educational program, enriches the experience with content aimed at brand owners and other customer audiences.
The event’s keynote is convergence: the movement of print service providers into adjacent areas of opportunity as they embrace technologies that complement the ones they presently are using. Investigating its impact is one reason why DNSC has decided to participate in PRINTING United as an exhibitor, according to Carnes.
“We think convergence will rejuvenate the printing industry,” he says. We’re looking to learn.”
