When In-plant Awareness Month kicked off on Feb. 1, the Palm Beach County (Florida) Graphics Division didn’t celebrate alone. The 10-employee in-plant got the entire county involved, greatly expanding awareness of its services.
A proclamation from the Board of County Commissioners, unveiled this week, declares Feb. 2020 to be In-plant Print Shop Awareness Month in Palm Beach County. Here’s what it says:
WHEREAS, In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) recognizes February as in-plant print shop awareness month. IPMA’s members are from all industry segments including colleges, universities, hospitals, education, financial institutions, religious organizations and national, state and local governments, and;
WHEREAS, the Palm Beach County Graphics Division was established in the 1970’s by the Purchasing Department and was transferred to the Public Affairs Department in 1995, and;
WHEREAS, the Graphics Division’s award-winning design and printing services provide marketing and event materials, forms, brochures and publication layout and design in a timely and cost-effective manner to departments, divisions, offices, constitutional offices, and other local and state agencies, and;
WHEREAS, the Graphics Division is registered as a certified chain-of-custody printer with the Forestry Stewardship Council and the Rainforest Alliance and serves as a resource manager for in-house and outsource printing and copying for all county departments, and;
WHEREAS, the Graphics Division produces highly recognized materials such as the Palm Beach County’s Guide to Services, the Parks and Recreation’s Leisure Times, ERM maps, Water Utilities bill inserts and the Libraries Happenings monthly publication, and;
WHEREAS, the division now reaches more residents to inform them about special events, projects, and vital information through brochures, newsletters and mailings, and produces more than 20 million pages per year including 500,000 Every Door Direct Mail pieces.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, assembled in regular session this fourth day of February 2020, that February 2020, in Palm Beach County, is hereby proclaimed
In-plant Print Shop Awareness Month.BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this proclamation is duly sealed, ribboned and executed by the members of this Board. The foregoing proclamation was sponsored by Commissioner Gregg K. Weiss, and upon unanimous consent of the Board, the Mayor declared the proclamation duly enacted.
County customers will have an opportunity to see the in-plant for themselves at its open house on Feb. 27, when it will demonstrate its range of equipment, including a Presstek 52DI press, a Canon imagePRESS C10000, a Xanté digital envelope printer, and a Duplo UD-300 Rotary Die Cutter.
