Anicolor Press Provides the Missing Link Between Digital, Offset Production Needs
COVINGTON, LA—After seeing a live demonstration of a five-color, 20˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52 Anicolor press at Graph Expo 2012, Mallery Mele, president of Mele Printing, knew that this press would be a better fit than his initial plans to acquire another digital press.
"We were were skeptical about Heidelberg's claims to 10-sheet makereadies and consistent ink coverage," recalls Mele. "But, in the end, the very issues we were doubtful about were the factors that sold us on the Anicolor press."
Mele says the new press has enabled his shop to offload excess static work from its digital machine; assume the production of the small-format, four-color envelope work that was previously outsourced at an annual of cost of $50k; and complement jobs that are best suited for its 41˝ Speedmaster XL 105.
