Meredith-Webb Installs Seven-Color, 64˝ Press
BURLINGTON, NC—Due to the success Meredith-Webb Printing has experienced with its first 10-unit KBA Rapida 106 UV press acquired in 2010, the company decided to purchase a second KBA press: a seven-color, 64˝ KBA Rapida 162a with coater and UV capabilities. Loaded with a bevy of automation features, the press is set to be delivered in the first quarter.
Meredith-Webb President Travers Webb chose the press to expand the company's current large-format press capacity and for its UV capabilities. "UV is used for protection, innovation, and to provide textured coatings and dimension. It provides flexibility to our customers and gives us an innovative technique."
Second Miniature Folder Needed to Meet Demands
PLYMOUTH, MN—Since installing a G&K-Vijuk V-14 SAF commercial/miniature folder just more than a year ago, Conquest Bindery has seen an increase in customer demand, which led to the purchase of a second folder. "The first V-14 folder gave us the capability to fold down to very small sizes, which opened a new market for us," says co-owner Bea Carpentier.
"Due to the fast turn times on the V-14, customer demands increased and we had to purchase a second machine."
Conquest Bindery offers a full spectrum of postpress services to the printing trade, including cutting, folding, saddlestitching, diecutting, collating, drilling and shrink wrapping.
