Canon Solutions America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., has announced that its “Designer’s Guide to Inkjet” received an award for outstanding achievement at the annual 2015 Showcase Awards, hosted by the Visual Media Alliance in San Francisco. Competing against nearly 150 entries from printing, design, advertising agencies and graphic art firms, Canon Solutions America was once again honored for its game-changing industry resource during the Showcase Awards reception on June 10, 2015.
This is the latest industry accolade for the “Designer’s Guide to Inkjet,” a comprehensive resource created for agency and in-house designers. Providing unprecedented insight into the evolution of inkjet technologies, the educational resource provides valuable information on how to best optimize work for production inkjet platforms. The guide was previously awarded first honorable mention for Application of the Year by Xplor International, a not-for-profit association for technology users and suppliers in the digital document and customer communications industry.
“Our goal to develop this guide and help the designer and agency communities expand their knowledge of production inkjet technologies was extremely important to us as an industry leader,” said Mal Baboyian, executive vice president, Large-format Solutions/Production Print Solutions, Canon Solutions America. “It’s truly an honor to be recognized by the industry as a company that produces top-quality, award-winning materials and we are thrilled by the abundance of positive feedback we’ve received about this resource.”
Dan Nelson, president of Visual Media Alliance, also noted, “This was a great competition with a very impressive standard of entries. Canon Solutions America should be very proud of its achievement and the excellent work done to develop the Guide.”
Organized each year by the Visual Media Alliance, a leading regional Printing Industries of America association, the Showcase Awards represent a visual media competition covering northern and central California and northern Nevada. Recognizing those responsible for the creation and production of visual communications in these regions, the competition promotes excellence in visual media. Now in its 18th year, the award ceremony rewards both companies and individuals who produce cutting-edge visual communications.
The Guide is now available for Canon Solutions America customers through PressGo, the company’s business development portal.
