By applying Lean Six Sigma practices, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools' Graphic Production Center was able to reduce its paper waste by 90 percent, resulting in potential additional revenue of $64,000 annually.

The training for Lean Six Sigma is provided through a belt-based system, similar to karate. The belt levels are designated as White Belts, Yellow Belts, Green Belts, Black Belts and Master Black Belts.
