In Boca Raton, Fla., last month, Canon Solutions America celebrated the three-year anniversary of the successful integration of Canon Business Solutions and Océ North America. Dozens of industry journalists, analysts and customers gathered at the posh Boca Beach Club for the third annual Anniversary Event, during which key executives detailed the company's recent successes and laid out its plans for continuing to provide best-in-class support and services.
“This event is very important to our company and each year further solidifies our relationship with our valued customers and members of the media,” said Toyo Kuwamura, president and CEO. “We are pushing ourselves to go beyond our limits and reach new goals throughout 2016. It was a privilege to delve into these objectives with esteemed members of the media and to showcase our unified company as we continue our push to the top.”
During the three-day event, guests attended a series of presentations given by executive leaders from each division of Canon Solutions America. Attendees were given a comprehensive look into the company and its plans for the future, while learning more about the different business units and their relationships with customers. Each business unit told stories of success and growth through the voice of the customer, and provided guests with an in-depth look into the development of the business relationships.
New developments on products were also included, giving guests a first-hand look into Canon Solutions America’s plans for the future as a print industry leader. Among them were the new VarioStream 4000 (built on the VarioStream 7000 platform) and the ColorStream Mono (based on the ColorStream 3000 Z Compact Design). A trip to the Customer Experience Center in Boca Raton generated buzz as guests attended educational group presentations on some of the company’s most impressive products, including the Canon Océ VarioPrint i300 cutsheet inkjet press.
The announcement of Canon Solutions America’s new Experience App created significant excitement during the event. The Enterprise Services and Solutions division, responsible for the development of the app, previewed its features for the first time in a live setting and highlighted its comprehensive bank of information. The app, scheduled to be released in March, allows users the ability to get quick access to all that is happening in the company year-round, while receiving notifications on news, product announcements, and services. Perhaps most importantly, users can use the Experience App to contact Canon Solutions America directly through its integrated messaging center feature.
The Production Print Solutions division showed continued support of thINK, an independent community of its customers, updating the audience on plans for 2016. Additionally, they showcased “The Inkjet Edge,” a collection of the learning, know-how, and recommendations of Canon Solutions America customers, its solution partners, leading industry analysts, and inkjet experts for those looking to transition their business to inkjet.
On the wide-format side, guests learned how the company’s Large Format Solutions division is providing turnkey consultative solutions to corporate America for wide-format applications, along with news on the division’s repositioning of its Océ ColorWave 500.
A particular highlight of the event was a presentation from featured guest Kenny Broad, a National Geographic explorer best known for his award-winning work in environmental anthropology. Supporting Canon’s overall environmental and sustainability efforts, the former “National Geographic Explorer of the Year” spoke of his incredible travels through underwater cave exploration and anthropology expeditions that focus on many environmental issues from climate change to inequity in natural resource management. Guests marveled at a presentation that included remarkable photography and timely climate and global insights from a true explorer of this planet.
“We are delighted with the outcome of our third annual Anniversary Event,” remarked Kuwamura. “This year’s event was a reflection of our commitment to creating experiences that showcase the full breadth and scope of Canon’s vision. On behalf of Canon Solutions America, we are thankful to all who joined in our celebration of three years as a unified company.”
