Benchmarking cost competitiveness and operational performance is one of the critical strategies used by in-plants to demonstrate their value. Unfortunately, the operational and competitive pricing data have not been updated in years, making comparisons questionable.
As a result, making the case that your in-plant's performance is as good as or better than others may not overcome the scrutiny of someone who has been approached and told that your prices are too high and your performance too low. However, nothing is more convincing to an administrator who has been approached by an outsourcing company with metrics in their hands, than when you have your own benchmarks of cost competitiveness and operational performance.
Howie Fenton, who recently joined InfoTrends, is working with the In-plant Printing & Mailing Association and In-plant Graphics magazine to update the financial, operational and cost competitiveness benchmarks. InfoTrends, a leading market research and consulting firm, is requesting your help to update the existing in-plant benchmarks and help establish more relevant benchmarks of in-plant performance. The goal is to identify leaders and industry standards, which you can use to benchmark your own performance. Follow this link to the survey, which only takes 15-20 minutes.
Please be assured that your responses will be held in strict confidence and that this is not related to any sales initiative. To thank you for your time, we will send an summary of the survey, invite you to a webinar that discusses the results, and offer you a 1-1 review to discuss your results with author Howie Fenton.
