Life’s a little sad for all of us right now, but for those in-plant managers who were planning to attend the Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) conference this week, it’s even more disappointing. The conference was postponed until June 28 to help curtail the spread of the coronavirus.
ACUP has only been canceled once — also due a national crisis — when the 2009 recession suddenly dried up travel funds. This time the reason for postponement seems more dire.
To cheer those disappointed by this sad turn of events (myself included), here’s a look back at ACUP 2018, at Lake Tahoe, when more than 90 managers met for several days of networking and education. With luck, this scene will play out again on ACUP’s new dates, June 28 – July 2 in Lincoln, Neb.
