At a gala dinner and awards ceremony Wednesday night in Cincinnati, the Association of College and University Printers (ACUP+) honored more than a dozen different in-plants for achievements in quality, design, sustainability, distinctive service and more.
The recipient of the ACUP Hall of Fame award was former ACUP President Richard Griffin, of Central Piedmont Community College. This award goes to an in-plant manager who exemplifies the highest standards of service to his/her institution along with contributions to the ACUP organization and the in-plant community. In 2010, a year after the conference was cancelled, Griffin hosted ACUP in Charlotte, helping to bring it back from the brink of extinction.
Also honored at the ceremony was Donna Horbelt, of UT Health Houston, who was named ACUP Achiever. This award goes to a member that demonstrates contributions and support that positively impacts the ACUP organization throughout the year.
