Grand-Format Printer Outputs Display Graphics, Banners
WAUNAKEE, WI—Suttle-Straus Inc. has installed an EFI VUTEk GS3250 LX flatbed and roll-to-roll LED UV-curing printer, supplied and serviced by Heidelberg. "We liked the product and found it to be very stable," explains Brett Keene, director of imaging. "But once Heidelberg came into the mix, we saw the perfect marriage of capability and service," including a generous parts and labor warranty.
The new grand-format printer will support Suttle-Straus' production of point-of-purchase (POP) and display graphics, and will also be of benefit on the R&D side. "We are already exploring opportunities to offer new applications requiring cold-cure technology," Keene relays. These include projects using thinner, heat-sensitive Styrenes, shrinkwrap, bubblewrap, athletic tape and more.
Double-Knife Outsert System FoldsPharma Leaflets With Up to 170 Panels
SPOKANE, WA—Since installing a new G&K–Vijuk MV-11 double-knife outsert system, pharmaceutical industry print and finishing provider Ross Printing can now fold outsert leaflets with as many as 170 panels. According to Alan Ross, president, the quality assurance tools available on the MV-11 have increased the printer's output dramatically without compromising careful inspection of each sheet.
"We purchased the MV-11 outsert system after careful review of customer and industry expectations, which translated to more patient information and, in some cases, multiple languages on their insert/outsert," says Ross. "The outsert format provides a competitive solution for pharmas to add more text and eliminate separate and expensive foreign-language components."
